Ball for Lives wants to help rescue African orphans and children in poverty around the world THROUGH changing lives in our own communities. As you look at our What We Do posts, you’ll see that each of our projects are involved in our own communities first.

Many people have asked me, “Why are you rescuing African orphans when we have so many problems here?” Ball for Lives gives two responses to this question:

1. While we do have problems in our local communities, the issues here cannot be compared to the devastation that AIDS, Malaria, and war have caused in Sub-Saharan Africa.

2. The answer to our problems here is not money. What our communities need is INVOLVEMENT. People are longing for relationship and purpose in their lives. As we get involved in our own communities with Ball for Lives projects and events we are inviting people into something bigger than themselves-the gospel of Jesus Christ.

By serving our own communities first, we will multiply our efforts to rescue African orphans as people catch our vision and get involved.
